Back To Blogging! :D

Yeah, I slacked on this thing. But that should come as no surprise. Anywho, I'm not gonna try to fill in for missing time, for those of you who know me or if we're friends on Facebook, then you're already aware of the recent happenings in my life...

Anywho, I just wanted to share an occurrence from today that got me thinkin'...

So I was just looking through news things online trying to find something interesting to read, when I came across a story that I'm really glad I read. Now, I'm not too big into stalking the royal family or anything, and I wasn't dying to watch William and Kate's wedding, so when I came across a story with Kate's name in the title, I wasn't overly intrigued, but then I saw the picture of her hugging a young girl that was next to the title, so I decided to read it. It was about this 6 year old cancer patient who had a wish to meet a princess, and how Kate took the time to talk to her for a minute. (You can read the story for a better description if you wish here http://shine.yahoo.com/channel/life/6-year-old-cancer-patient-gets-a-royal-hug-from-kate-duchess-of-cambridge-2508845/?pg=8) I don't know, I guess something about that whole thing just kind of said something to me. I guess I appreciate the time Kate took to spend with her and seeing something positive in the news for once. And also something that's worthwhile to read (right next to this story was something about Robert Pattinson cutting his hair. Really? Why is the relevant or important? At all. But whatever) I suppose it was just refreshing to see someone do something nice for someone else for once. There's just so much negative that's constantly going on around us, it seems as though sometimes we forget what love and compassion are, and that was a nice reminder that there is good in the world. Just look at the pictures from the story and look at the smile on the little girls face, you can't tell me that's not one of the most precious things you've ever seen. To see a six year old who's gone through so much, smile like that, is just great. I wish the best for her.

It's the smallest things that can make all the difference, we never know what simple act could change a life. Maybe, just maybe, if we spent a little more time loving and caring, and a little less time caught up in the negative and frivolous things of the world, we'd all be a little bit happier.

Yeah...Didn't Take Too Long For Me To Start Slacking On This. Surprised? You Shouldn't Be

So...I have a hard time with the follow through on some things, what can I say? I mean it's fine, I'm updating this thing now, so hopefully that will suffice.

I'm not totally sure why, but for some reason lately I've just been thinking a lot about all the people I've met, all the places I've lived, and all the experiences I've had. It really is crazy to think nearly 19 years have gone by already. Looking back now, it seems as though it's gone by so fast, yet during that moment time seems to be passing so slowly. It's a weird thing, that time concept. But we base so much of our lives off it. Strange. Anyway...

Looking back I realize that EVERYTHING happens for a reason. I lived the places I did, at the times I did, and met the people I did, for a reason. They were all supposed to affect me in some way. There was something to be learned from everyone and everything. Now I can only hope that I took as much from those experiences as I possibly could. Because it's each one of those people and places that have made me who I am today. I guess it'd be a good thing to figure out how I became the person I am =P Lots of things have happened in my life, both good and bad, but there's something to be learned from everything that happens, I just hope I haven't taken too much for granted.

Life's a weird thing. It moves so fast and so slow at the same time. People come in and out of our lives all the time. Things change SO fast. Ridiculously fast, actually. All I know is that right now in my life, I can only take things day by day and appreciate what I have here, while I have it. Everything can change in just one moment.

Other than my random thoughts, there's nothing too exciting going on in Cedar City right now that I can think of. Anything of importance that isn't listed here can probably be found on Facebook...for some reason I don't slack on that as much haha.

What Do You Do When You're Bored? Take A Trip To St. George, Naturally. :D

Yeah...so last weekend was DEFINITELY a great way to start out this semester!!! Oh my heck. It was great.
Friday night was our Gymnastics meet against UCLA which we won by .3 points!! It was pretty much..amazing!!! UCLA's ranked number 5 and we were ranked number 23. So it was pretty awesome. After that Friday night DJ Marcus Wing came back to Cedar and did another dance for us, which was also awesome. It was SO much fun. I don't lose my voice often, but I did after that night =P
Saturday was pretty chill, not too much happened really. But it was fun. Just hung out with friends and played games.
Then Sunday after church we decided to head down to St. George for the night. Which was an adventure!!!! And that's almost even an understatement. We went swimming, made non-alcoholic drinks, played cards, watched a movie, went to a park...Hahahah played on a swing, and then came back up here to Cedar.
It was a great weekend and I'm very blessed to have the people that I do in my life.

Yes, Two In The Same Day

For some reason when I was typing that last one, I remembered something from Debate...Just, ya know, funny things. Redundant things, rather...I have no idea why I thought of this, but ladies and gentlemen, I would just like to inform you what some things mean....

ATM- Automated Teller Machine
SAT- Scholastic Aptitude Test
PIN- Personal Identification Number
POV- Personally Owned Vehicle
(Any others like this)

Please, for the sake of not sounding like a redundant fool, avoid saying things such as ATM machine, SAT test, PIN number, POV vehicle, because just take a minute and figure out what you're really saying. (Automated Teller Machine machine) Exactly.

This concludes my grammar rant for the time being, thank you.

Ba-Ba-Ba-Ba-Back To Cedar City!!! :D

Yes, yes, YES! My month long break from school and month "vacation" to Payson is now officially OVER!

I am back in Cedar and more excited for next semester than I was the last!

Well...at least the being in Cedar City part of it. The actually school part of it, not so much. But hey, I guess that's why I'm paying so much to be here, right? No, I'm only kidding, I've never been one that just loathes school. It's not always my favorite and I stress myself out WAY too much, but overall, I really do love learning. Yeah, call me a nerd, whatever, but I am excited for my schedule for next semester. It's going to be a good one [[:

So I came down a couple days early hoping that I could find a job, and I spent some time on that, we'll see how it turns out.
But I came down and stayed with my friend, Trisa, who was unlucky enough to have to work almost all break, but hey, having a job is good I suppose. Anywho, yeah, so it's been great fun...Even with..."it" around. Hah. I'm terrible. Buuuuuuuuuuuut, I am excited because all my other friends will be coming back sometime this weekend and I'm so very excited to see them. It was weird not seeing everyone for a month.
Anyway, point of this is, I'm back in Cedar, and I'm very happy to be here [:

Well 2010...

It's been a very...long and eventful year thinking back, but it's definitely one that I'll remember [[: Who would ever think SO much could happen in one year? Who knows, it really has been crazy though. So, I just thought I'd take a little bit a reflect back on this past year and just take some time to think about everything that has happened...

January- Besides the start of this year, I guess January could be one of least uneventful months out of the whole year. I don't really remember too many major things happening that month. Mostly just stuff with friends, the last semester high school was...very interesting, to say the least, in regards to my friends. Oh wait, there was one thing. There was this deal with Lehi (Yes, I know, cryptic, but...the people involved will know)
February- Let's see..Hmmm, our Region tournament for Debate (that Payson hosted) was that month. I got thrown into LD (Lincoln-Douglas), which I had never done before, and ended up doing really well (if you'd consider 1st place good). So I wish I would've started that before Region haha, but that's okay. February was a very..dramatic month, as well. Lots and lotsa of ups and downs that month. It was also when I took my first overnight visit down to SUU for the leadership weekend [[:
March- March was pretty big...There was my State Debate tournament at West Lake High School which was exhausting, but at the same time it was fun. Only the debates lasted for a couple days, all of the IE's were one day. I was the only person from Payson who went to State to actually do a debate, so I made some good friends with some kids from Salem that trip. Anywho, after that was finished I ended up taking 5th at State (I lost in my final round to a kid that I beat in Region, so it's okay). Then a week later I went up to Layton for the HOSA State Competition, which is ALWAYS fun. It was fun getting to be on HOSA Council last year. I did two events, Biomedical Debate and Extemp Speaking. We took..8th in the debate and I took 2nd in Extemp Speaking which means...*Drum roll* I qualified to go to Nationals! In Florida!! That was an adventure!! So those were my highlights from March. Oh...I think this is when I got my acceptance letter from SUU as well
April- Well..I turned 18 that month...I really don't know if too many things happened that month, either. Other than me getting really anxious to finish high school!! I do remember that much. Oh! AP Tour was that month over Spring Break. Hey Monday, The Cab, Every Avenue, The Summer Set, and Nevershoutnever. Funn.
May- Oh my. This month probably ranks among the top most eventful months of 2010. And I could probably sum the whole month up in one word, graduation. Most everything that month revolved around that. Me finishing all my school work, getting everything in line with school, and finally graduating. That one moment that I had waited for, for SO long, that moment had finally came and it seemed to pass much faster than I had anticipated. But it was all fun. Early in May I went to a Motocross race, the next week was Morp, which was just tons of fun! Then about a week and a half later was senior check out. It all happened so fast, that whole month became a blur. Saturday the 22nd was the 3OH!3 and Cobra Starship concert which was TONS of fun. Then came the big week. We got our yearbooks Monday and that was also the day of the Senior Sob, then Tuesday was graduation practice, and Wednesday, May 22, 2010 came. Graduation day. The actual ceremony went by fast than expected, as well. I can remember a couple of the speeches my friends gave, and one in particular from my friend, Belen, and I just remember one the messages was sometimes we can be our own worst enemy. And I just remembered thinking during that, that we have to have confidence in ourselves, that's the only way we'll make it through. Especially with everything that would be coming up for me later in this year. After graduation was the Senior All Nighter!!!!! We had a stomp, a catered dinner from Tucano's, Comedy Sportz, big blow up things, a photo booth, snow cones, and a hypnotist. That was a very fun night, and I'm so glad I got to spend it with friends.
June- June was actually when HOSA Nationals was held...so towards the end of June me, Shelby Judd, Brianne Penrod, Coach Stevens, and Brianne's mom and sister all got on a plane and headed for Orlando!! Oh how I do not miss the humidity of the South. Goodness. But, that was all fun and there's pictures up on Facebook. I don't know how I actually did, but hey, I was in Florida and it's not like I was going back to high school, I just wanted to have fun! Something else that was fun, my friend Dallyn from Alaska and his family all moved to Florida near Orlando and one of the days they picked me up from being a Disney prisoner (as I liked to joke. We were staying at one of the resorts and Disney took us EVERYWHERE, it was crazy) and we went to the airport to pick up Danae who was coming home for R&R then we went to lunch, and that was just fun. Oh! And my Orientation for SUU was that month.
July- I mostly just worked and prepared to move, nothing too exciting.
August- This month ranks among one of the most eventful as well. At the beginning I went to my friend, Christian's show, where I saw DWBK, Get Scared, Vampires Everywhere!, and Modern Day Escape...but later that month is when I'd be moving to Cedar City to go to SUU. I moved down there August 19th and spent the weekend in "Flight School" which..had it's ups and downs haha. It was sometimes fun..but mostly it was just the last part of Orientation. Classes started on the 23rd and I just jumped right into the whole school thing. And I'm loving every minute of it.
September- My brother got the Priesthood this month [[: Uhmm...not too much happened..Just school and meeting new friends. I think the Freshman Board retreat was this month too.
October- Halloween!!! And..yeah haha. That about covers it.
November- Thanksgiving and Thanksgiving Break. A much needed break too, if you ask me, as SUU didn't get a fall break this year.
December- Now..I finished my first semester of college..survived finals...and today is New Years Eve!! ( I realize I got short on the last few months...but that's when I started this blog so you can go back and read about the fun things that happened if you feel like you must know, this is mostly just a way for me not to forget everything that happened) and yes, Christmas!

All in all...this has been a great year. Despite it's ups and downs, 2010 has treated me pretty well. The ending of one chapter of my life, and the beginning of a new and great one. I've left many great friends ]: Who I will never forget and met some the most amazing friends down at SUU [[: It's been a good year. And I'm ready to start 2011 and make it an even better one!!!

So It's Been A While...

Yeah, I've slacked off (surprise) but I can explain myself!!! It's just been crazy with Christmas and being back up in Payson and such. Life's been kinda crazy, but hey, it keeps things interesting. There haven't been many exciting things that have happened this break so far..It's just been nice to relax for a while and not be stressed out about classes and stuff. However, they have been a couple of exciting things...
-Last Sunday I just hung out with Jordan and Halie...it was good to catch up with them
-Last Wednesday Hayden, Chantel, Sara, Kenzie, Liz, Russell, Bridger, and I all went up to Temple Square to see the lights and then up to Sara's house in Layton for dinner (which was DELICIOUS, might I add) and that is definitely a highlight from this break. It's been weird not seeing my friends from Cedar nearly everyday, and it was fun hanging out with all of them, and my friend Liz from high school! It was most definitely great times.
-Last Tuesday (yes, I realize I'm out of order) I went sledding and went and played pool with Halie, Nat, Kort, Britt, Dylan, Dustin, Camille, and SaLisa, my old buds from high school, and it was TONS of fun being with them again! They all crack me up.
-Last Thursday I went and had lunch with my friend, Megan, which at first may not sound overly exciting...but ya see, she just got back from Ukraine last week and she's been gone since I few days after I moved to Cedar City and it was great to see her again!!
-Tonight I went to the mall with Cody and Brittney...which is always a party [[:

Other than that I've just been chillin with my fam and working. Good ol' Western Wats, right? Which reminds me...I was at work today and I saw my friend, Alesha. Funny thing is we both used to work there, we both moved to Cedar to go to SUU, and both ended up back there again over Christmas break..that place just draws you back...or provides money for broke college students..something like that =P

All in all, so far I'd say it's been a successful break. I've been able to relax, see old and new friends, work, and Christmas was great!! Now I'm just lookin forward to New Years. I hope everyone's had a safe and awesome break thus far!!! :D
